We are taking our daughter (22 months) for one day to magic kingdom. I want to make this day totally about her, and make sure she has a fun day. Any tips on how to approach the day? Things to do/pack? We will be leaving midday for her nap.

Hi Nicole! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

How sweet that you'll be bringing your little princess to Walt Disney World. My son has been visiting since he was 8 months old, so I'd love to help you make the most of your day with your baby girl.

I think one of the most important ways to have a successful day with a very young child is to try to keep her day as close to her regular schedule as you can. You're already thinking that way with your plan to head out at midday for her nap. Keeping her rested and fed around her normal times will go a long way toward keeping her happy. If you're coming during a warm time of year, be sure to keep her cool and hydrated, too. You can bring water bottles into the park, and a spritzer fan is a fun way to beat the heat.

As for what to pack, just remember your normal essentials in your baby bag: diapers, change of clothes, snacks, a few favorite toys. Don't try to bring too much - you'll have to carry that bag around with you, after all! And do bring a stroller, either your own from home or one that you rent when you arrive.

If you need a break from the heat or just a chance to slow down and catch your breath, stop by the Baby Care Center located between Casey's Corner and the Crystal Palace. It's a nice, quiet spot to change a diaper, have a snack, read a book, or just rock and cuddle. Check out the video tour of the Baby Care Centers by my fellow panelist Jen I've linked here for you.

The Preschoolers page on the Walt Disney World website is a wonderful resource for planning your trip, with advice on attractions and other fun ideas for visiting with little ones.

I hope this helps you have a practically perfect Disney day with your little princess, Nicole. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions!

    Have a magical day,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
