We'll be taking our 2 1/2 y.o. daughter to Disney World this coming September. We are planning on doing the MK and AK. Any good ideas of what the best things to do with a toddler at these parks are?

    Hi Becki,

I accompanied my nephew, Tanner, on his first trip to Walt Disney World when he was 15 months old.  Exploring the parks with a toddler can be so much fun!

In the Magic Kingdom, there's so much to do with little ones.  Try these amazing attractions: Mickey's PhilHarmagic, Dumbo the Flying Elephant (I'd do this one first since it is recently reimagined and very popular), "It's a Small World," The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Country Bear Jamboree, Mad Tea Party (if you don't mind a spinning ride), the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan's Flight, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover, and Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.  Make time to meet the characters. enjoy the parades, and see the nightly fireworks too.

As for the Animal Kingdom, definitely do Kilimanjaro Safaris first thing in the morning when it is coolest outside.  Don't miss Finding Nemo-the Musical, Flights of Wonder, and Festival of the Lion King.  Visit the Boneyard, TriceraTop Spin, Conservation Station, and Maharajah Jungle Trek but steer clear of It's Tough to Be a Bug and Dinosaur.  These are definitely too scary for a two-year-old, in my opinion.  In fact, Dinosaur is still too scary for me and let's just say I'm a lot older than two.

Remember as you explore the parks that your daughter will be fascinated by a wide variety of things.  Take time to let her enjoy the fountains and the animals.  There's nothing quite like experiencing the magic of Disney through a child's eyes.

    Have fun!
