Hi, I am taking my daughter to Disney World for her 16th bday June 2018. What character dining would you guys recommend? I was wondering if the Cinderella castle one would be too little girl like.

Hi, Marie! I’m so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel for help with your dinner reservation! I’ve been to so many character meals that I hope I can give you an idea of what I like as an adult and what a teenager may enjoy!

First of all, I’m of the mind if you truly have a favorite character, you’re never too old to enjoy a meal with them. While your daughter may be too old to enjoy Pooh at Crystal Palace or the Disney Junior Play N’ Dine at Hollywood & Vine, I think she would relish in the strawberry soup and amazing food at 1900 Park Fare. Alice and Mary Poppins greet guests at breakfast, while Cinderella and her entire family (yes, stepsisters and all) converse and pose with guests over dinner. Cinderella’s Royal Table, as well as Akershus offer a wide array of Princesses, so if your daughter can’t choose which Princess she loves most, she can see Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, and more (princesses rotate, as they are busy with wildlife friends and royal duties!).

Other experience I’m fond of are dining at the Garden Grill, where Chip and Dale cause lots of mischief, and any meal at Ohana, where you can see Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and more over incredible polynesian-inspired fare (breakfast is the best). There are so many options, but these are my absolute favorites. Be sure to make your dining reservations right at 180 days in advance of your check-in day, as popular meals go fast! If you have any more questions about dining or your magical vacation, please let me know; I’m off to schedule my next dinner! ~ Lindsey P
