We are taking our 6 children to Disney on July 10 - 17, 2009. What should we expect in way of weather and crowds. We are staying on the property and have hoppers. I booked meals for each day, is this over the top? We have the dining plan as well.

Hi, Gina!  The easy part of your question is that you can expect in terms of weather and crowds.  Weather in Orlando during July is hot and humid, and you will likely see temperatures in the 90s most of the days you are there.  Each afternoon, almost like clockwork, you should see a bit of a storm - but these are quick moving storms that will just drop some rain, perhaps thunder and lightning, and move out in a matter of a few minutes.  If you are bringing a stroller, I always cover up with a rain poncho when I leave it, because you could be inside at a ride or attraction and come out to find the stroller soaked from a passing storm.

Crowds are pretty large during the summer.  It is not uncommon to find long waits for rides and counter service meals.  You can use the Fast Pass system to help minimize your wait time, and eat at off peak times to help with the lines at the restaurants.

Whether or not having a meal booked for each day really depends on the type of vacation you like to have.  I try not to book something each day for my family, only because my husband prefers a more spontaneous type of vacation.  He would rather not have to be at a dinner reservation every night, because it doesn't allow a lot of flexibility.  I prefer the reservations - especially if you want to make sure you get in to a particular experience.  The restaurants tend to fill up, and you don't want to be disappointed, or scrambling to find a place to eat with hungry kids.  I would have done what you did!

I hope your vacation is wonderful!
