Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest

We are taking my almost 3 year old and 6 mos old to Disney for 3 days. We are planning 2 days at MK, and I'm up in the air about the other park. Also, do we need proof she isn't 3 yet for free admission for her?

    Hi Jill,

There is no proof of age required for children. Children under the age of three do receive free theme parks admission and some free dining at Walt Disney World. The cast members at the parks and restaurants will take your word for it when you tell them that your daughter is two years old.

As for which park to visit ... for a two year old, I'd either choose Animal Kingdom or Disney's Hollywood Studios depending on your child's interests.

Animal Kingdom focuses on animals (not surprising). If your child is an animal lover, then that's the place to be. The Kilimanjaro Safari and the many walking trails are great ways to spot exotic creatures. There is a petting zoo at Conservation Station. And the Boneyard area is fun for kids who like dinosaurs. The Finding Nemo performance is also a favorite.

DHS is more show based. Most preschoolers enjoy the Disney Junior show, the Little Mermaid show, the Beauty and the Beast Show, and the Toy Story Mania ride. If you have an adventure loving child, the Indiana Jones Show and Lights Motors Action auto stunt show are also great fun.

I'm happy to provide more information about any of these attractions. Just let us know what you need.
