Hi! We're taking our almost 5 month old on a Disney Cruise in January! We plan to use nursery during dinner, how long should we book it for? Also, we were scheduled for 2nd seating, what are the chances we will be able to get that switched to first seating

    Hi, Tiffany!

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney cruise!  To adequately plan for dinner, it's really going to depend on how many people are in your traveling party or at your dinner table. For instance, with my entire brood of six dining at the same time, dinner may take as long as an hour and 45 minutes. However, I've been in a situation where my husband and boys decided to eat quickly poolside and go to a movie, and my daughter and I were the only ones dining that evening. It took us about an hour.  To be on the safe side, I would reserve an hour and a half of nursery time and consult with the counselors in the nursery when you drop off your child.  If you're planning to dine at Palo, you will need at least 2 hours to dine.

As far as switching to first seating, you certainly can inquire about it when you get to the port on Embarkation Day or once you're on board at Guest Services. There are cancellations and switches made, and it's certainly not out of the question. However, second seating does allow you to play longer so that you're not hurrying back to the ship to get dressed for dinner.

I hope that helps. Let me know if other questions pop into your head. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
