We are surprising our 7-yr old son & 5-yr old daughter with this trip! How soon should I personalize our magicbands? Should that be done before I make dining reservations? And how many fast passes do we each get per day with a 6 day park pass+park hopp

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Andrea! A surprise Walt Disney World Resort trip ... oh boy, oh boy! I am sure your kids are going to be over the moon excited when they find out where they are headed.

Booking your Advance Dining Reservations is much more urgent than customizing your MagicBands. You can begin making your dining reservations 180 days in advance, and several popular restaurants fill quickly. However, your MagicBand can be customized at any time, up to 30 days before you leave for your trip. Your family's MagicBands will ship about two weeks before your check-in date. You should get an email notification when they are shipped, so you can keep an eye out for them and not spoil the surprise. With any Disney theme park ticket, each Guest will be able to initially make three FastPass+ selections at one park per day. Since you do have Park Hopper tickets, you will be able to make FastPass+ selections at another park, provided you use your initial FastPass+ choices first. After you use them, you can make each subsequent FastPass+ selection one at a time at an in-park kiosk, assuming there is availability.

I hope you have a magical trip, Andrea. Please let us know if you think of any other questions while you continue to plan. Be sure to video your kids' reactions as you tell them about their big surprise!
