I am surprising my 7 year old daughter with a Disney World stop on Christmas Day. I haven't been to Disney World in over 20 years, so I am a novice. Will the park and rides be open all day? Do you have any other suggestions?

    Hi Malini,

It sounds like you and your daughter are in for a fun surprise. Magic Kingdom will be open all day; however, it will most likely be really crowded, so I suggest heading there as soon as it opens at 8:00 a.m. There will already be a crowd there simply because resort guests can enter the park at 7:00 a.m. that day.

Because there will be so many guests, you'll want to make a list of a couple of things you think you'll most want to experience together. If you think your little princess will want to ride the roller coaster, I recommend getting a FastPass to Big Thunder Mountain as soon as you arrive. Then head over to Fantasyland and take in some popular attractions there: Enchanted Tales with Belle, it's a small world, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid.

That may honestly be all you get done during the day. Some great attractions to try when the parks are crowded are Mickey's PhilharMagic and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. People Mover is also a great way to get a bird's eye view of Tomorrowland.

Another fun activity is Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. Head to the Firehouse on Main Street U.S.A. to start playing this interactive game. You can play as many times as you wish.

If you're not too tired, catch the fireworks and parade in the evening. Just enjoy the sights and sounds of being in Magic Kingdom.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
