I am surprising my mother w a trip to WDW in Oct for her retirement present. Is there a way to celebrate the occasion while we are there?

Hi Stephanie, A trip to Disney World...what an incredible gift to give your Mom!

A wonderful way to celebrate the occasion while at Disney would be to surprise her with an "In-Room Celebration".  See: HERE. While I don't see anything, "Retirement Specific" on the site, the great news is that you can contact the Dream Makers directly at: 407-827-3505. They'll work with you to come up with something perfect. They absolutely love to help make Guests dreams come true. Let them know what you are celebrating and what you think your Mother might enjoy.

In addition, I'd recommend that you take your Mom to a fantastic dinner. One restaurant that I personally love is Citricos. Whichever restaurant you choose, you can let the Cast Member know that you are celebrating a retirement and ask them to sprinkle the table with Metallic Mickey confetti.

Also, when you enter the Parks at the beginning of your trip, stop by Guest Relations. They have complimentary pins available that say, "I'm Celebrating". Pin it on your Mom and have her wear it proudly. Cast Members will ask what she's celebrating and she can brag to the world that she is finally retired. She's earned it!

Hope these ideas help and have a magical vacation with your Mother,
