Hi, any suggestions on what to see with a six year old girl on a one day time for the park? thanks

    Hi Valeria,

Believe it or not, at this time yesterday I was at Disney's Animal Kingdom!  We had a wonderful day and I've got a few suggestions for you and your six-year-old.

If your daughter is a brave gal, then grab a fast pass for Expedition Everest in the "Asia" region of the theme park.  Ride this exciting coaster once first thing in the morning and then hold on to your fast pass for another time later in the day.  I'm sure you'll want to ride it again!

Then head to Africa to experience the Kilimanjaro safari.  I've noticed the animals seem to be most active early in the day so be sure to take the safari before lunch time.  Then board the adorable tram to Rafiki's Planet Watch.  Again, if you visit in the morning you have a decent chance of being able to view some of the animals that reside at the Animal Kingdom receiving veterinary care.  Your daughter can also pet or help groom some of the very friendly inhabitants of this park.

Grab lunch and then head off to Dinoland USA.  Along your walk, stop at the landmark Tree of LIfe and watch "It's Tough to Be a Bug."  Enjoy the carnival rides in Dinoland, but bypass the Dinosaur attraction unless your daughter really enjoys scary prehistoric creatures.  That ride even scares me!

If you're wearing clothes that dry quickly, you should consider riding Kali River Rapids.  This is a fun ride, but you're very likely to walk away soaked to the skin.

Be sure to make time for the amazing shows at Disney's Animal Kingdom:  Finding Nemo-The Musical, Festival of the Lion King, and Flights of Wonder!  Pick up a Times Guide as you enter the park.  You will find performance times listed there.  Arrive for these shows twenty-thirty minutes in advance of the stated performance time.  These are great to do mid-day, particularly if it is a hot or crowded day in the park.
