What are your suggestions for first time visitors, with a limited budget? We have a 7 & 9 year old girls. My husband is a diabetic, are there healthy options when you buy the dining plan? Thank You

Hi, Christina!  If you are holding to a strict bottom line when it comes to budget, I think your best bet is going to be a package, that includes park passes and the dining plan.  I think it really helps when you have all of the big stuff paid for, then you have a better handle on where the rest of your budget is spent.

I always suggest to plan some meals in your room.  If you have a regular room (as opposed to a family suite), you'll have a small refrigerator, which is perfect for yogurt, fruit, juice, and milk.  I use it for a quick breakfast or evening snacks.   I also put granola bars, juice pouches, or other non-meltable snacks in my backpack, so when someone gets a little snacky feeling, I have something to hand them.

Standard rooms will save you some over preferred rooms.  You might have to take a few more steps, but if you do your homework, you can find which standard rooms at which resorts are nearly as close to the things you need as preferred rooms.

If you're flying, don't forget to use the free Magical Express transportation from the airport.  You'll also have free transportation around the resort when you arrive.

We also tend to share meals.  I know that I can order an adult meal and have plenty to share with either one of the kids or even my husband, if I add a soup or appetizer for him.  Even on the meal plan, this can stretch your budget.

You'll find both counter service and table service restaurants will have low carb, sugar free options for your husband.  Everything from salads to fresh fruit, grilled foods instead of fried - you'll have great options.

    Have a wonderful time!
