Do you have some suggestions for the best Mediterranean cruise shore excursions? My family of 5 includes three kids ages 14, 18, and 21. We are doing back to back 7-night cruises so we will hit each port twice. I'd love your recommendations. Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Vicki! Your family is going to love your back to back cruises in Europe with Disney this summer!

In Naples, be sure that one of your visits includes a Port Adventure to the Island of Capri. This adventure has something for everyone, including a jet boat ride, guided tour time and free time in this gorgeous spot. Then, the next time you port in Naples, I'd suggest heading to Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii. There are a number of adventures that can take you there, including hikes, 4x4 rides, or more simple tours. Either way, Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius are not to be missed!

I love Rome! It's one of my favorite cities in the world, and I could explore there for days on end. If you are really interested in the history of Rome, I'd suggest heading there twice when you port each time in Civitavecchia. Normally, I'd suggest a "best of" type tour for a one-day visit, but since you get to go twice, I'd recommend choosing two more in-depth tours to different places each time so you get more time in each spot. The Vatican is really a treasure of history, culture and art, so be sure that one of your visits includes some time there. Seeing Michelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel and the Pieta up close are once-in-a-lifetime experiences and your older children will gain so much from this! Or, if Rome one day is enough, choose an Italian countryside adventure on your second visit for a real flavor of the local culture away from the tourist areas!

Your La Spezia port stop is close to Florence and Pisa. Again, since you get to go twice, head to Florence (the Florence on your own would make a nice day and get you out of the whole tour group routine), and during your second port stop there, be sure to take an adventure to Pisa. Of course you'll want to get the iconic shot pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower, but the town has quite a bit to offer as well. I'm about out of room, but I hope those ideas help as you plan, Vicki!
