What suggestions do you have for AK? We were there and our kids liked it but would rather be MK another day. I'm starting to plan our next trip and trying to figure how many days at the parks we should do. What do you suggest for a perfect Disney trip?

    Hi, Abby!

My family loves Disney's Animal Kingdom, but we tend to treat this as an early-morning park. If we head there at park open (taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours in the a.m., too), we see all that we have to see by late lunchtime. A quick stop at Flame Tree Barbeque and we exit the park.

At that point, we often head back to our WDW Resort hotel for a swim (or a nap if there are nappers among us.) After an hour or two, we shower, change and head back into a different park for the night. Most often, this is Magic Kingdom. There is always an additional stop at MK for us, as there is so much to see and do in that park in addition to the nighttime entertainment. If little ones can't stay up past bedtime, then a pre-evening in MK nap is a must. After a great day in AK, most are ready for that nap!

For our family, we like to spend two days in MK, two days in Epcot, one day in Disney's Hollywood Studios and one day in Disney's Animal Kingdom. Of course, if our schedules and budget allows, we like to add days to our stay so that we can enjoy lazy mornings or afternoon / evenings at our great WDW Resort hotel as well as a nice, long visit to Downtown Disney. Throw in a trip to one of the water parks, and you've added a day as well.

In short? A seven or eight day stay will give you the added time to revisit your favorite attractions and entertainment at the parks as well as some downtime. A more relaxed schedule always helps us to enjoy the moments that are before us, rather than trying to pack in too much in one trip.

Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, Abby; we love to help!
