What is your suggestion on getting a Military Discount for the resort? When should I call?

Greetings, Deanna, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’ve stayed with my Coast Guard brother a few times at Walt Disney World Resort, so I hope I can give you some insight into your upcoming vacation. First of all, thank you very much for your service. I appreciate all that you do!

You have two options when choosing a Resort Hotel and booking a stay. Active or retired military can book a room at Shades of Green, an independent resort located directly on Walt Disney World Resort property, adjacent to the Polynesian. They have their own transportation, golf course, amenities and more, and offer amazing prices on rooms. You won’t be able to use your MagicBand at the Hotel, however, so some vacation perks may be lost in that regard. If MagicBands and charging privileges are important to you, please check the Military Discounts Offers on Disney’s website. During various dates, you can enjoy fabulous rates for eligible military members and their families. Military members must stay in that room for the offer to be valid, and they must also present a military ID upon check in.

If you’d like to book one of these rooms, you can call (407) 939-5684 to speak with a Cast Member about booking a Disney Resort, or (888) 593-2242 for Shades of Green. Be sure to check out other special offers from Disney, and remember that you can book your hotel room 499 days in advance, so it’s rarely too early to plan. If you find a better rate or alternative that works for you, you can call Guest Relations to edit your vacation package. Thanks, and I’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
