    Harry from SC Asked

Would you suggest going to the T-rex restaurant if you have an autistic child with mild symptoms?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Harry.

T-REX™ restaurant is a wonderful journey back into the Jurassic Period, highlighting life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and authentically themed rooms. Our experience at T-REX™ restaurant with my Autistic son, was that he was affected by meteor showers and accompanying rumbling and explosions, which occurred every 20 minutes. My son, however, is highly sensory driven and even though he wore noise-cancelling headphones plugged into his tablet, he was distressed by the flashing lights. Your child's reaction may be more favorable being on the milder side of the spectrum, Harry.

The BOATHOUSE® at Disney Springs was a fabulous alternative for my family where after dinner, my son greatly enjoyed his serene, breezy ride aboard a vintage Amphicar.

Please refer to Disney’s Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities, which will assist you with your planning. In particular, the Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities is helpful and the Disability Access Service (DAS), may be of benefit to your child, which can be used along with FastPass+ Planning.

We wish you a magical vacation, Harry and would be happy to assist you again soon!
