Three Generations Aboard Ship

I can suffer from claustrophobia/motion sickness. Ive only been on one other cruise on a higher deck. In your experience, is there more motion sensation on the upper or lower decks? Will I notice a difference between deck 2 and 10 on say the Dream?

    Ahoy, Eugene!

In my cruising experience, I have noticed a few things about the movement of the ships. I prefer to find a nice Midship room to stay in, as I think the movement in the center of the ship is less than either end. I would also rather have a forward stateroom as opposed to an aft stateroom. I think there is too much vibration experienced in the back of the ship, especially when docking.

When booking a cruise for my family, I tend to stay on Decks 6 through 9. I like to be "sandwiched" between staterooms, meaning I do not want the Walt Disney Theatre below me or the Donald's Pool area above me. I made the mistake of cruising on a different cruise line once, and my stateroom was just below the pool deck. The crew members were power washing the deck and moving deck chairs around beginning at 5am. I was not a happy cruiser on that ship!

I can honestly say that I have heard great things from friends who have stayed on Deck 2. They have told me that it is super quiet and they don't notice the movement, but I don't have that personal experience. You can find reviews of staterooms on different cruising websites, by searching "Disney Cruise Line Stateroom reviews".

I hope you find the perfect location on your next Disney Cruise! And, consider adding your own review on one of the websites that you find to help others in your situation.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
