    Alison Asked

I suffer from chronic abdominal pain, meaning I struggle to stand or sit in similar positions for extended periods. Makes queuing v difficult. My BIL suggested a DAS; I am embarrassed to ask for one. Is this the type of disability that DAS is for?

Hello there, Alison! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for reaching out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

As someone that also suffers from chronic conditions that can often appear “invisible”, I completely understand and empathize with your concerns! However, Walt Disney World Resort is absolutely committed to providing each and every Guest with a magical experience including their Guests with disabilities. I cannot convey just how helpful it has been to vocalize my concerns and receive the appropriate accommodations for my own disabilities!

The Disability Access Service is intended for Guests that cannot wait in a conventional queue environment due to disability. Guests that are provided with the Disability Access Service may go to select attractions and receive a return time comparable to the current conventional queue wait time. Once this return time is issued, Guests can return at any time at this time or after to experience the attraction. This service is actually not given based on specific conditions but, instead, on symptoms of your disability.

If this sounds like a useful accommodation for your condition, I would recommend visiting a main entrance Guest Relations location at any of the four theme parks during your visit. There, a helpful Cast Member can discuss the Disability Access Service with you and see if it is a good fit. If it is not, they may be able to offer some alternative services that better address your concerns.

I hope you have a wonderful time visiting Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can help with planning any of portion of your vacation!
