Little girl with Minnie Mouse

Struggling to choose a hotel. In late April, how essential is a 60 (rather than 30) day booking window for Fastpass? Staying at teen-choice hotel and making all-day, all-ADR trips to Disney with little girl would make my life easier. Any FP will be left?

    Hi Monica,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love staying onsite at Walt Disney World Resort for the convenience of Disney transportation, the 60-day FastPass+ window, and - my favorite reason of all - staying in the "Disney bubble." It's so wonderful to be immersed in the magic for my whole vacation. For me, staying on-property does make my life easier, but you know your family's vacation style and needs, and should choose what works best for you.

Now let’s talk about FastPass+ selections. I’ve taken spontaneous, “let’s go to Disney World tomorrow” trips, and I’ve gone on trips where I booked my FastPass+ selections 60 days out. In my experience, if you have a good plan, stay flexible, and accept that you will have to wait in lines, you should be able to get on most of your top-choice attractions. There are a handful of attractions that you will likely not get a FastPass+ selection for at 30 days out. Having said that, here are some tips:

    •    Don’t give up! Keep checking your My Disney Experience app. Check multiple times a day. You never know what might pop up!
    •    Split your party into smaller groups. As long as there is some overlap in the FastPass+ arrival window, you'll be able to ride together during the overlapping time period.
    •    Arrive at the park right when it opens and head straight to the queue you don’t have a FastPass+ selection for. In my experience, standby queues are quieter first thing in the morning and later in the evening.

I hope that helps you make your decision. I’m wishing you a pixie-dusted FastPass+ selection experience and a magical vacation!
