How strict are the height restrictions on rides? Can it be overcome with some Nike Airs and a hat or are they really exact? Just want to prepare my 4 year old for possibly missing Space Mountatin,

    Hi Joanna!

Enforcing height requirements on attractions at Walt Disney World is strictly for safety for guests visiting the parks.  If your child is on the border of being too short, they will be checked at the entrance of the ride AND right before they board the ride vehicle.  My son was able to ride on Star Tours one week, but we switched shoes and he was denied the next week we went for being too short.  The Cast Member was able to pass a park brochure between his head and the height checker and that determined he wasn't tall enough to ride.

The best way to prepare your child for possibly being turned away is to talk to them beforehand and explain that they may not be tall enough, but the attraction will be waiting for them the next time they return.

    Have a magical day!
