Stephanie S: travel w DS4 & DD2.5 for 10-12 days. Is it better to do the parks mornings (8-1) only and stay around the resort for nap/pool/dinner, with 1 full relax day midway, or return to park after naptime - but w full relax (no park) days every 2

    Hi Julie,

Welcome back and thanks for sending me your question!  Since having my daughter, I am always a little hesitant when planning my Walt Disney World Resort Vacations, because of scheduling.  It is certainly not magical dragging a grumpy toddler around the theme parks, but I always want her to experience as much as possible.

I am happy to hear that you are still planning for nap time, I would recommend staying as close to your regular schedule as possible.  In order to determine how to spend your time at Walt Disney World Resort, I would look at your children's sleeping and dining patterns.  If bedtime is late and they could handle going back into the theme parks after dinner, by all means spend the time in the theme parks.  If your children need the downtime before and after dinner, it may not be worth it to go back.

In terms of your children's ages, I would recommend playing it by ear, and possibly do a combination of half days and full days (with downtime for naps at your resort). If your children are having a great time and aren't overtired and overstimulated, head back to the theme park after dinner.  If they are done, follow their cues and stay at your resort for the evening.  My daughter always needs a break from the theme parks halfway through our vacation, I usually plan to head over to Downtown Disney on that day, and then just relax by the pool.  Keep in mind that Disney's Animal Kingdom Park as well as Disney's Hollywood Studios are super fun, but you should be able to experience all of the attractions for young children in a half day.  For scheduling purposes,I would head back to your Disney Resort and have a relaxing evening on days where you visit those theme parks.

I hope my answer helped Julie.  Please let me know if you need further clarification or would like some more specific scheduling options.  I would be happy to help.
