    Julie from WA Asked

Hello! We are staying at the the Grand Californian from Wednesday, Jan 17 with a check out on Friday, Jan 19. We want to take advantage of the Magic Hour. Is it possible to use the Magic Hour at the parks on Thursday and Friday, if we check out on Friday?

Hi there, Julie! Thanks for trusting the Disney Parks Moms Panel to help you plan your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!

I am so glad that you are planning to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour during your stay next January. This is my all-time favorite perk of staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel and I use Extra Magic Hour every day each time I visit! You can most certainly use Extra Magic Hour on Thursday and Friday of your stay. On Thursday, you can enter Disneyland Park one hour earlier than general park opening and, on Friday, enjoy Disney California Adventure Park one hour early with only other Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests. You can even enter Disney California Adventure Park through the designated entrance from Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa! To enter the parks for Extra Magic Hour, you will need to show your hotel room key card when you have your theme park tickets scanned. Since you won't need to return your key card when you check out, you will have no problem entering the parks for Extra Magic Hour on your last day.

At Disneyland Park, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will be open during Extra Magic Hour and at Disney California Adventure Park, just about the whole park will be open for Guests. You might also be able to pull FASTPASSES during Extra Magic Hour. Just check the Disneyland app when you enter the park that morning to see if they are being distributed.

Please visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if you have any other questions about your upcoming trip! Happy planning!
