Staying at Ft. Wilderness in an rv from 7/28/14-8/2/14. what is the best way to get to the parks, as we will NOT have our own transportation. plus we bought 2day passes along w/ h2o park/hopper ticks, is 5 days long enough?? ty :)

You'll LOVE Fort Wilderness! I've lost count of how many times we've camped there! Honestly, five days is NEVER enough, but neither is five weeks... The question might be: "is it doable?" And the answer is 'yes,' even more so at this resort than others, here's why:

    • If you have a 2-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with the Water Park & More Option, you can spread that over four days. This ticket gives you two visits to the water parks or Disney Quest. Visit the theme parks on two days and then go to one water park on another day and visit the other water park or Disney Quest on the fourth day.
    • You can EASILY spend a day at Fort Wilderness enjoying all it has to offer. From renting bikes to canoes, splashing at the pool or just hanging at your campsite, there's so much to do. Don't forget to make time for Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long as well as the nightly water pageant down at the marina. We've taken many trips where we didn't go to the parks and just enjoyed the fort.
    • Consider all that Disney has to offer OUTSIDE the parks: Downtown Disney, the Boardwalk, watching the fireworks from the Ticket & Transportation Center or riding the boat over to the Magic Kingdom resorts.

Since it sounds like you won't be pulling a car (we usually don't, either, because we like to pull our golf cart), you'll simply rely on Disney transportation. You'll find internal buses that will take you around the fort along with the marina and Outpost Bus Stop. To get to the Magic Kingdom, you'll head to the Settlement and the marina and take a boat. All other theme parks as well as the water parks and Downtown Disney have buses that run from the Outpost Bus Stop across from where you'll check-in.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
