We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge at the end of July. It will be our first time staying there. We have booked a woodsview room. Are some rooms better than others? Should I ask for a certain location? The panel has been a big help. Thanks!

    Hi Cindy!

Great resort choice! I just LOVE the Wilderness Lodge! Its my first choice on every Disney trip!

For woods view rooms, my favorite room request is to ask for a room on the north side, facing the Magic Kingdom, on a higher floor. At first glance these rooms may not seem to have a great view BUT at night many of these rooms have a view (through the trees) of a beautifully lit-up Cinderella's Castle and fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. While the smokehouse for Whispering Canyon Cafe and a small parking/service area is viewable when you look directly down from your room, you can also see things like the Contemporary and the monorail while seated on your balcony!

Other Woods View rooms are located in the opposite wing of the lodge (the lodge is pretty much shaped like a large U) and overlook the Villas. These rooms are great for their very secluded and quiet atmosphere. If you'd like one of these rooms, I'd request "overlooking the Villas".

Whichever view you decide is best for you, be sure to call and add your request to your reservation. To do so, contact either Disney Reservations at 407-W-DISNEY or your travel agent. While room requests are never guaranteed, I've always had great luck, and I hope you do too!

I hope you enjoy the Wilderness Lodge and your Disney trip!
