Staying at Wilderness Lodge on arrival day (10am) and departure day(9pm) hubby doesn't want to do the parks. We have quick service plan & 4yr old son. Can you give me your best suggested plans for eating on those days? Also, an itinerary if you can!

    Janice,

The Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts!  We actually very much enjoy Roaring Forks, the quick-service eatery inside the Lodge, so I'd check that out for at least one meal.  (The roast beef and bleu cheese sandwich is excellent!)

Do you plan on visiting Downtown Disney?  That is a great spot to spend your arrival day, and your 4 year old son might really enjoy the Lego store.  There are plenty of Lego tables set up for kids to play with, and there are also numerous larger-than-life Lego creations that are truly amazing.  Our favorite quick-service restaurant in Downtown Disney is Wolfgang Puck Express.  It is a great value on the dining plan, and offers a more upscale fast-food experience.  You can also get a lot more than your typical sandwich here, with a wide variety of dishes including roasted chicken, pastas, gourmet pizzas, and a wide variety of salads.  Earl of Sandwich is also a good choice in this area.

Another option would be to visit the Boardwalk area.  This is especially fun in the afternoon/evening when the performers are out.  You could use your quick-service credits to eat at the Belle Vue Lounge for breakfast, or the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Another way we like to spend non-park days is just exploring the resorts.  It is a lot of fun to see them all, and each offers a quick-service dinig location where you could grab a bite to eat.  From the Wilderness Lodge, you could take a boat to Ft. Wilderness or the Contemporary Resort, and from there you could hop on the monorail to see the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian as well.

    Have a great vacation!
