    Lisa Asked

We are staying at the Wilderness Campgrounds. Just wondering is there a way to get on the monorail or do we have to drive and if driving do we get a parking pass?

Hi again Lisa! I am so excited to answer your Fort questions.....it is a hidden secret on property and the friendliness and peacefulness of this area is beyond your imagination!

When you arrive with your fifth wheel you will be given parking passes for both your RV and also your truck. You can drive to the parks or anywhere on property and with the pass you will keep in the front window you will be allowed into all parking lots without charge. During busy times we have found that taking the resort buses is easier then trying to park at the parks but it gives you options.

To get to the Magic Kingdom you will head to the Fort Wilderness marina and hop on a direct boat. it takes about ten minutes and it is a fun way to arrive. You will actually step off the boat directly in front of the entrance making this one of the most convenient resorts to this park. If you wish to take the monorail around to the other resorts you can hop on here before entering the park. This is the resort loop and will take you to the Contemporary, TTC, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. If you wish to get to Epcot you can get off at the TTC and transfer to that monorail.

You can also take a smaller boat to the Contemporary Resort from Fort Wilderness. This also stops at Wilderness Lodge. You can get off at the Contemporary and walk up and catch the monorail at this resort as well. Again if you need to get to Epcot you would simply get off at the first stop, TTC, and change to that monorail.

There is an internal bus system so you can easily get around inside the campground if you choose not to walk. The main buses are in the front of the property and will take you to Downtown Disney, water parks, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom if you choose not to drive. Let me know if you have any other Fort Wilderness questions.....you will love the experience!
