Hi Moms!! Staying at Wilderness Campgrounds in T-minus 75 days! If we rent a golf cart, can we drive the cart to Ohana for dinner, or will we have to use another form of transportation? Can it be driven to Epcot as well? Thanks for all the advice!

Howdy, Tiffany. The wilderness beckons, so let's hit the trail!

For sheer fun and things to do, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is jam-packed! From horseback riding, to fishing, to exploring the trails, to singing along at a campfire with Chip and Dale, and lots, lots, LOTS more, there's never a dull moment here.

With all the great things to do, and the massive size of Fort Wilderness, we always rent a golf cart when we stay. They tend to run out early, so be sure to contact the resort ahead of time for an advance reservation

When you pick up your cart at the Reception Outpost at check-in, a Cast Member will give you an overview of how to operate the cart, how to charge it, and the rules of the road at Fort Wilderness. One thing they'll tell you: the carts are not allowed to leave the Fort Wilderness property.

But never fear, Tiffany. It's easy to get around Walt Disney World while your golf cart stays safely parked at Fort Wilderness! For 'Ohana, just drive your cart to the marina on Bay Lake and catch a boat over to the Magic Kingdom. From there, you can either take another boat to the Polynesian Village Resort, or hop on the monorail. To get to Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, you can take your cart to the main bus stop at the front of the resort and take a bus directly to the park. However, if you happen to have your car with you, you may find it easier to just drive to those parks. You can park there for free as a resort guest.

I hope this helps you plan a rootin'-tootin' stay in the wilderness, Tiffany. Please mosey on back if you have any more questions.

    Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
