Staying at WDW Cabin-May09. Which cabin locations are best? Where can I find a map showing loop & cabin numbers & proximity to pools/amenities to request certain cabin at or before our arrival?

    Hi ALice,

We just recently returned from our first stay at the Fort Wilderness cabins. We had so much fun that we are returning there is a few weeks for a quick getaway and decided we had to stay at the cabins again. It is amazing to me how many amenities the Fort Wilderness resort offers to its guests. The best place to view a map of the resort grounds is at www.allears.net.. Select the accommodations tab at the top and then on your left you will want to select Fort Wilderness. AT the top of the Fort Wilderness fact sheet page is a link for a full color map of  the resort.

When we stayed, we were lucky enough to be in the 2500 loop. This loop is right by the smaller pool and within a quick walk to the bus stop. SInce this resort is so large, it is important to be close to a bus stop. Unless you rent a golf cart or bring bicycles, the internal buses will be your transportation to the front of the resort to transfer to park buses, or to move around the resort to the Settlement Trading Post or Meadow Recreation Area. The Settlement area is where you will find Mickey's BBQ,  Hoop Dee Doo Revue, carriage rides, restaurant and lounge and more. The Meadow Recreation area features the Meadow simon pool, rental for bikes and canoes and the Chip and Dale campfire and movie screen. The cabins generally run to the left side of the resort, with the campsites running down the middle and right side. There are no cabins that are extremely close to the Settlement area or the Meadow Recreation area so I would suggest requesting the 2500 or 2600 loop. This section will keep you close to the front of the resort and the main bus stop as well as put you within walking distance to the smaller pool.

Hope you enjoy the resort as much as we did!
