    Lynette Asked

Hi! We are staying at the Swan and Dolphin Resort in a standard room. If we don't finish a meal at a nice restaurant and want to take it home with us are there any microwaves available for us to use to reheat our meals? I don't want to waste food!

Hi, Lynette!  Boy oh boy, can I relate to this.  I ordered a half order of the delicious gnocchi at Il Mulino restaurant in the Swan the other night, and still left half of it behind on my plate!  What a great midnight snack that would have been!

The standard rooms at the Swan and Dolphin resorts do not have microwaves in them, and there is a no microwave policy at the resorts, meaning you can't opt to rent one to use during your stay.  The only rooms that have the microwave are the suites, which have pretty extensive kitchen amenities.

You will have a refrigerator in your room.  I know that not everything is appealing cold the next day, but you might be able to take a to-go box for some of your leftovers.  I survived many late nights studying on cold pizza back in the day!

If you are concerned about an over abundance of food, I can tell you that I've never had difficulty sharing meals with one of my family members on vacation.  And, like Il Mulino, some restaurants may offer smaller portions or appetizer size meals that are big enough for a dinner.  Ask at the restaurant if you think you're going to have something leftover.

    Have a spectacular vacation!
