Staying a single night at POR then moving to Boardwalk for the rest of our stay. Do we will need to go to the Boardwalk to ck in or if we can head right to a park from POR? Have to plan fast passes & not sure what time to start them! Thx!!

Hello Diana, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.

I love splitting my stay between different Resort Hotels during my vacations. It allows me to experience a favorite resort and a new resort during longer visits. If you are going to be moving from one resort to another, there are a few things to keep in mind.  First, you will need to prepare your luggage to move to your new resort. I would suggest calling Bell Services the night before to have them pick up your packed bags. Let them know you need to have luggage swap for a new resort. They will take your name and bags so they can be delivered to your new resort.

Next, when it comes to checking in, you can do it online or the My Disney Experience mobile app. However, if you have purchased a dining plan for the rest of your stay, I would recommend that at least one adult go to your resort and complete the check-in process in person. Now with the Minnie Van Service, someone could head over to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn first thing in the morning to check-in. This one-way transportation can be accessed through the Lyft app from your smartphone for just $25. Pricing is subject to change. Meanwhile, the rest of the family can get your luggage ready to transfer to your new resort and then meet up at the theme park of your choice for that day. If you are an early bird, I would suggest planning your first FastPass+ within an hour of the park opening. Keep in mind that your FastPass+ window is for an hour so even if you plan your first selection at 10:00 a.m., you would have until 11:00 a.m. to redeem them. Good luck with your planning, and if you have any more questions, please come back and visit us again.

    See ya real soon,
