Hi, we are staying in a rental home close to Disney. I have been told that we should not go to the park on days where Disney has extra hours for people staying in their resorts. Is that true?

    Hi Anne,

This is always a debate for guests even those staying at the Walt Disney World Resorts. I have mixed feeling on this but I will give you my thoughts and you can decide.

The Extra Magic Hours when they are in the morning definitely sees an increase in Disney guests staying on property. Many guests like to get up early and go to the parks while the parks have limited access. Many do the rides which are open and then leave to go to another park.

The Extra Magic Hours at night are usually attended by guests who can stay out longer. Plus it is fun to ride the attractions at night.

The only park that truly feels the effects of Extra Magic Hours is Disney's Hollywood Studios. Toy Story Midway Mania is super popular and many of the FastPasses are gone early in the morning. During the evening hours, Rock 'n Roller Coaster with Aerosmith and Tower of Terror are both open. However, they are right next to each other so this area is packed.

Keep these things in mind when building your itinerary. If you have to spend a day at a park with Extra Magic Hours, then plan accordingly.

    Wishing you magical vacation!
