We will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside in early January. Since we will have a car, are we better off driving to the parks or using the buses? Parking at the parks is free for resort guests, correct?

    Hi Liz!

Disney's Port Orleans--Riverside is a beautiful resort, replete with Southern charm and a fantastic pool/activity area.  One of the most serene resorts on property, POR invites its guests to sit back, relax and unwind!

Parking is free at all the theme parks for guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel.  Having had the opportunity to use both a rental car and Disney transport, I cannot extol the comfort of a rental car enough!  The flexibility of being able to come and go as one pleases really helps us to relax during our vacation.  Although Disney transport is plentiful, there are time when guests have to wait for buses and/or monorail service, and the waits usually don't exceed 20 minutes, but with a fussy toddler or a tired kid, those minutes can last a long time!

Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
