    Hi Kim,
We often have a car while vacationing at Walt Disney World. I’ve found the Sassagoula River boat ride to be much more relaxing than the commute by car. For one, parking even in the off-season at Downtown Disney can be quite challenging. Yet, the actual ride via car only takes about 10 minutes and if you are running late or need to return in a hurry, your car would be the fastest transportation.

The cruise takes about 20 minutes but the trip “down river” is refreshing. The only time I would avoid it is on a chilly evening (we’ve encountered a few in January, for example) where even with a jacket the wind is uncomfortably cold.

I think your kids would enjoy boarding the boat at the Riverside Levee and see the boat ride as another Disney adventure!
