We will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter in early November. We need to be at the Richard Petty shuttle near the kennel in the Transportation parking lot at 7:30 AM. How much time should we allow to get from the hotel to the shuttle? Thanks

Hi ya, Robert! It will be super easy if you take a cab. Well, truth be told, it'd be easiest if you had a NASCAR style stock car waiting for you when you woke up, but that's more of a pipedream than a reality, right? You'll get your chance to be behind one soon enough.

So. Why a cab? If you went with Disney transportation, you'll be waiting early in the morning at Port Orleans French Quarter for the bus to Magic Kingdom. When you get on said bus and arrive at Magic Kingdom, you'll have to backtrack to the Ticket and Transportation Center in order to get to your required location. Lots of variables in there for something to go wrong with timing. Plus, depending on the day and when Magic Kingdom opens, a bus may not even come in time to start the necessary chain reaction.

A cab from Port Orleans French Quarter will take 15 minutes tops and cost about $15. It's a reasonable cost for an extra hour of sleep and peace of mind!
