We are staying at PO-R and doing the MK steam train tour when we visit in May. I'm assuming we'll have to take a cab to get to the MK early enough to be in the park at 7:30. Wondering about when to leave the resort and how to even get in to MK - monorail?

    Hi Stephanie,

I love the train at Magic Kingdom. It is always a treat to ride on it especially when moving from one side of the park to another!

From Port Orleans Riverside, you will only be able to take a bus to the parks. For Downtown Disney, you can ride the "river boats" to this fun entertainment area. The buses at Walt Disney World start running from all the resorts to the parks one hour prior to the park opening. As long as Magic Kingdom is opening at 8:00 on the day of your tour, you should be able to hop on the bus at 7:00 am and head over to Magic Kingdom which would be enough time. Here is a link to the Magic Kingdom calendar.

I would check with the concierge at Port Orleans Riverside to see if the buses are linked tours like dining is as you might be able to take a bus. Otherwise, a cab is the best option and the concierge can help you make those arrangements.

    Have a wonderful tour!
