Staying at POR in the Alligator Bayou section. Can you recommend a building to request? Would like to be close to the bus stop. Also, what makes a room a preferred room? Is it worth the extra cost?

Hi Stacey!  To answer your question on preferred rooms first, it has to do with location, location, location! The rooms closest to the main building are considered preferred rooms (and also the most requested rooms).  Whether they are worth the extra cost to you depends on how badly you'd like to stay closer to the main bus stop, food court, etc.  The preferred rooms are located in Buildings 14, 15, 18 and 27.

Buildings 14 and 15 are closest to the main bus stop and Building 14 is closest to the food court.  When I stay at Port Orleans Riverside, I typically request Building 14 or 18 (18 is located on the other side of 14).

If you don't want to pay the extra money for a preferred room, there is another bus stop in the Alligator Bayou section called the West Depot and it's located near Buildings 24, 25 and 26.

Enjoy your vacation at Port Orleans Riverside - it's my favorite moderate resort.  Diane
