We're staying at the Pop Century Resort for the first time. We choose preferred last year at AS Movies and still seemed to be far away and on 2nd fl even though I requested 1st fl. Is it worth it to choose preferred at PCR? And is parking far from rooms?

    Hi Marie,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm happy to offer my thoughts on Pop Century Resort because my family stays there often.

The preferred rooms at Pop Century are in the center of the resort in the '60s section and in the areas of the '50s and '70s that are closest to Classic Hall and the Hippy Dippy Pool. We have stayed in a preferred room, but, honestly, we like the standard rooms better, especially if we can get our favorite buildings.

My two favorites are 2 and 3 in the '50s area. They are still within easy walking distance to the buses, food court and main pool. But we find them a little quieter than the rooms nearest the action. Plus, they are closer to parking, and we always have our car.

Building 2 especially is quite convenient to the parking lot. On the Pop Century map, you will see it at the top of the bowling pin pool, with the large jukebox statue at the entrance. Building 3 faces the lake.

I hope that helps. I think you will have a great time at Pop Century, no matter which room you choose. Please let me know if I can answer any more questions for you as you make your plans. Enjoy!
