We are Staying a Pop Century but planned on driving from out of town straight to Epcot when they open in AM. Do you have to go to resort first to activate Magic Bands or can we go to park ? We did online check in already We arrive May 23.

    Hi there Lindy!

Your Walt Disney World vacation is just around the corner. I know you must be getting super excited!  I'm also from Georgia and recently drove down to meet friends at Walt Disney World. Having already done online check-in, we decided to head straight to Epcot to enjoy extra time at the park as opposed to using precious time at the resort. Although my friend bringing our MagicBands had a flight delay, two of us were able to show our ticket information on our smartphones via the My Disney Experience app. We had linked our tickets online and the friendly Cast Member was able to issue us a plastic ticket to gain entry into the park. The entire process was easily handled by Guest Relations at the entrance to Epcot. When our friend arrived a few hours later, she came straight to the park and was able to enter the ticket touch point entry area with simply her MagicBand. Once I received my MagicBand, I was able to utilize it immediately for our FastPass+ experiences that we had previously selected. We never went to our Disney Resort hotel until later that evening. Based on my own personal experience, you should be able to go straight to Epcot on the day of your arrival.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please don't hesitate to visit us again if you have any additional questions. Best wishes for a magical trip, Lindy!
