We will be staying at pop century in june 2014, we will have magic bands... Will that act as our room key to get in the hotel room? Will it be used to lock and unlock the in room safe ? Or will we still have to carry a key? Thanks for all you help!

    Hi Jill,

The new MagicBands are pretty amazing. They act as your room key, your tickets, your charge card, your FastPass+ admission and more. To enter your room, you will simply tap your band to the sensor on the door.

However, to my knowledge, the bands do not work on the in-room safes. I've stayed at a number of resorts since MagicBands were introduced -- value, moderate and deluxe -- and none of the safes were MagicBand enabled.

I know there were still regular keys in the Pop Century safes when I was last there in the fall.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your questions. We're always happy to help. Enjoy your visit and your first exposure to MyMagic+!
