Hi, staying at the Pop Cent. in sept with 6 & 8 yr old girls. We have the DDP and water added to our base tickets. Would like to do some character dining, any sugg. on which ones, and how to make the most of our DDP without wasting time travelling?

    Hi Ann-Marie,

Character dining is a lot of fun, especially with children between the ages of 5-10!  They're past the stage of being frightened and haven't yet entered the "too cool" stage -- although, rest assured that stage will pass eventually.  As an adult, I really look forward to character dining on our vacations.

Since you are staying at Pop Century and don't want to take up too much of your time traveling in order to get to your dining locations, I recommend character dining experience inside the parks:

Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom features Winnie the Pooh and friends.  The buffet is great at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
    • Garden Grill in the Land Pavilion at Epcot is a fun dining experience that features Chip & Dale as well as Farmer Mickey and Pluto.  The food is served family style, and some of it is even grown on site.
    • Akershus in Norway at Epcot has a Princess character meal that may be perfect for your girls if they are princess lovers.
    • Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom is one of my favorite character breakfasts.  There is quite a selection of food choices and you'll get to see Donald and his friends dressed for safari.
    • Although it isn't in a theme park, Chef Mickey's is located at the Contemporary and is within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom.  It's a fun restaurant and may provide a nice break from the parks without taking up too much extra time.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
