If you are staying at one of the resorts, do you have access to the pools and activities at other resorts? Are there some that are more older Teen oriented?

Hi Charlene, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Generally, "pool hopping" from one Walt Disney World Resort hotel pool to another is not allowed. However, there are a couple of Resort hotels that essentially share pools, allowing you to check out the different areas. If you stay in one of Disney's All-Star Resort hotels (Sports, Movies or Music), you can use the pools at all the others, and Guests at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter can use both pools.

For most other Resort hotel activities, you don't have to be a Guest of that hotel to take part in the fun. We love to rent a boat and float along the waterways of Walt Disney World, and anyone can visit the marinas located at many of the Deluxe hotels to hop aboard your very own watercraft. Many also have campfires, movie nights under the stars and walking trails open to everyone.

You may find Disney's Contemporary Resort to be just the spot for teens. There's a pool slide, a beach with a volleyball net, boat rentals, and Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre, with jetski rentals, parasailing and more! There's also the "cool" factor of the monorail passing right through the hotel. Plus, the Contemporary is just steps away from the Magic Kingdom, where teens can hit favorites like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, just to name a few.

I hope this helps you plan your leisure time at Walt Disney World, Charlene. Please do visit us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
