staying at Old Key West, reservations for 8:30am for Chef Mickey (change in venue while we are there) how long should I expect it to take for transportation so as to plan to leave hotel and arrive for reservation on time?

    Hi Sundina,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be so excited to see you when you come to dine with them at Chef Mickey's!

If you have not done so already, download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. It has a "Get Directions" feature that will give you directions and transit times between locations. The app estimates it will take 93 minutes to get from Disney's Old Key West Resort to Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort using resort transportation. Although it could take 93 minutes, I would allow at least an hour. From the resort, you could take the bus to Epcot, then catch the resort monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort. If the monorail is not operating, I suggest you take the bus to Magic Kingdom, then walk or bus to Disney's Contemporary Resort. The walk is about 10 minutes once you exit the park.

When you arrive, check with the resort to find out exactly what time the bus service and resort monorail will start operating. Officially, bus service starts about 45 minutes prior to park opening. The monorail starts operating about 30 minutes prior to the earliest park opening.

Sundina, Disney's Contemporary Resort is iconic. If you arrive by monorail, the monorail drops off very close to Chef Mickey's. Be sure to see the inspiring mural by Mary Blair before or after dining at Chef Mickey's. Also know that a Disney PhotoPass photographer is available snapping photos just before you enter the restaurant!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
