Staying at OKW Nov. 7-15th in a 3BR Grand Villa. My aunt & uncle are staying with us the first night, then in a studio at OKW the 8th-15th because there was no availability the first night. How will magic bands and dining plan work for us? Thank you

    Hi Byron!

The Magic Band question is quite easy, since all Magic Bands are interchangeable for any stay. Because your aunt and uncle are on two separate reservations, two sets of Magic Bands will be automatically generated. They can elect to customize and receive both of them, or as of just this week, they can decline one of the sets if they choose. Either set will open the door to their room and function for park tickets, FastPass+ and Disney Dining Plan.

You may run into a hiccup with the Disney Dining Plan. The Disney Dining Plan must be purchased by all guests on a room reservation for the entire length of the reservation. If you will be purchasing the Disney Dining Plan with your Grand Villa reservation, and your aunt and uncle are on that reservation, they will have to pay for the Disney Dining Plan for the entire length of the reservation.

Your first option would be to just have add the Disney Dining Plan with your reservation, but then they would not add it to their own Deluxe Studio reservation. If they were not planning on purchasing the Disney Dining Plan, you could see if it was possible to rebook into two separate reservations, a one night stay followed by a seven night stay, and then they would only be on the one night stay reservation. Alternately, what we have done was purchase our family’s Disney Dining Plan Credits for the days they would not be using them, and then we used the credits ourselves. It might be a great way to visit a Signature Restaurant or a dinner show!

I hope this helps to answer your question, and gives you a few ideas how to make the Disney Dining Plan situation work for your group. I would also call Member Services to add the Disney Dining Plan and ask if they have any additional solutions. Please let me know if there are more questions about your trip that we can help you with, we love helping our fellow Members.

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
