Staying off property in November 2016, 4 adults and 2 kids. Would it be worth it to purchase magic bands? Am I correct in understanding that you can only link a credit card if you're at a Disney resort?

    Hey there, Erin!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Currently, credit cards can only be linked to a Magic Band if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Guests who are staying off property are not able to do this! Maybe in the future, this feature will be available for all guests not matter where they are staying.

For our first trip to Disney with our toddlers, we did not have Magic Bands, only the admission cards. Admission cards are used just the same as a Magic Band. Your park tickets, FastPass+ selections, and dining reservations are created and stored in your My Disney Experience account, which is linked to your admission card or Magic Band if you have one. Deciding if a Magic Band is perfect for your family depends on if any member of your family needs assistance keeping up with things. Cards are easier to misplace or slide out of pockets. Magic Bands allow for you to experience the magic with the touch of your wrist. It makes keeping with everything a bit easier!

Hopefully, this helps you make a decision about what's best for your family. Magic Band or not, you and your family are in for the most magical vacation of all times! If you decide to purchase a Magic Band visit the Disney Store online or the Shop Disney Parks mobile app.

    Wishing you magic and memories!
