We are staying off property and I am curious if you need to be a resort guest in order to view the WDW fireworks show from the beach at the Polynesian? Thanks!

    Hi Cathlynn!

You absolutely do not have to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel to visit the various hotels!  So in your case, you can definitely visit the Polynesian and watch the fireworks from the Polynesian's beach.  However, parking a car there can sometimes be an issue if you're not staying there, especially during the busiest times of the year such as during the holidays.  If you want to park your own car at the Polynesian, which is do-able in general, then I recommend making a dinner reservation at the Polynesian before the fireworks show.

If you don't have a car or if you park it in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, then you can just take the monorail to the Polynesian.

The Polynesian is a great place to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from because the view is directly head-on.  You can also watch the fireworks from the Grand Floridian, but you have to watch them from an angle (though you are closer).  I personally prefer watching them from the Polynesian as opposed to the Grand Floridian.  For a really unique experience and perspective, you might consider watching them from the California Grill restaurant on top of the Contemporary Resort!  That's definitely a magical experience!

    Have a magical time!
