Hello, I am staying off Disney property and wanted to know should I still purchase tickets online and try and get fastpass+? I wish to get in on some character meet and greets. I leave in a week. What's my chances?

    Hi Naimah,

Congratulations on your upcoming vacation, it's almost here! I definitely agree you should purchase tickets online through Disney prior to your arrival.  Although I have used other authorized ticket agents myself in the past, you do not want to take a chance that your tickets will not arrive in time in order to be linked through My Disney Experience so that you may pre-choose your FastPass+ selections.

I think your chances are very good to get some great FastPass+ selections in order to meet some characters. The one character meet and greet that might be more difficult to obtain is the one at Princess Fairytale Hall with Anna and Elsa. However remember if there isn't a FastPass+ available for an attraction or a character you can still go do the attraction or meet the character by using the standby queue. For very popular or new attractions like Anna and Elsa I always recommend being at the theme park at rope drop. Besides choosing FastPass+ for the characters, you can save a lot of time by selecting rides too. Once you have your FastPass+ selections chosen through My Disney Experience you can manage them on your mobile device if you are in the theme park and change your mind.

Naimah, another great way to meet characters is to have a meal with them. I love being able to have a leisurely meal in air conditioned comfort where the characters come to us - and with their own PhotoPass photographer too! To make  Advanced Dining Reservation for Character Meals click on this previous link and make sure the filter at the top of the page under Dining Experience is checked for "Character Dining".

    Have a MAGICAL vacation!
