We are staying at a non-Disney resort and purchased Magic Bands separately. The bands are linked to my account, but do I need to activate the bands in any way or pick up the tickets before our first visit to the park?

    Hi Laina!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so happy to hear that you are planning on using MagicBands for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It makes it so much easier to enjoy a theme park day when you have access to your theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservations and Memory Maker account with just the touch of your MagicBand. Plus, when you wear your MagicBand on select attractions, you will get exclusive videos of your Group enjoying the attraction, which will be automatically loaded to your Memory Maker account!

My Disney Experience provides much of the magic behind your MagicBand. When your MagicBands are linked to your My Disney Experience account, they will be able to access all of the entitlements in your account, including your theme park tickets and FastPass+ reservations. You can check to make sure your MagicBands are linked correctly by navigating to the MagicBands & Cards page of your My Disney Experience account. If your MagicBands are listed as 'Active', then you are all set to use them for your vacation. There is no need to pick up theme park admission cards as your MagicBand will give you the access you need by touching it to the Mickey touch points.

If you have any problems at all using your MagicBands during your vacation, simply see the nearest Cast Member for assistance. And be sure to download the My Disney Experience mobile app for your vacation as it's the easiest way to manage all of your entitlements during your trip! -TT-F-N, ta ta for now!
