We're staying in May 2008 at the Pop Century in a standard room. I try to bring my own pillow (which is about 60 cm wide) and wonder how wide a standard double bed is. My wife and I sleep in one and I don't want to discomfort her by blocking space. Thanks

    Hello Gerhard,

Being from Denmark and having lived in Germany myself, I do know that there is a slight difference in European sizes for mattresses/beds versus North American sizes.  I will give you the North American Standard sizes, which are as follows:

    Double/Full size: 135cm wide

    Queen size: 152cm wide

    King size: 193cm wide

Now, let me clarify your Resort/Room choice for you just so you are not misunderstood.  A standard room at the "Pop Century Resort" will offer in most of their rooms either 2 double beds or a limited availability of rooms with 1 king bed.  This means that you will  have a room with either 2 double beds (so you can always choose to have one bed each if you would like to have some additional space each), or you will have 1 King size bed to share which as I mentioned is 193cm wide and I am sure would accommodate the both of you and your pillow with some room to spare.  I hope this has helped and that you have a magical vacation!
