We are staying at the Grand Floridian in an outer building-theme park view room in September. We've never stayed at this resort & probably never be able to afford to again. Which building do you recommend we request for this particular type room?

Hi, Susan! You are truly in for a memorable stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! It has been the setting of some of my family's most treasured memories and I cannot wait for you to experience this resort with your family! I have stayed in several different buildings there and can honestly tell you that there really is not a bad location, especially with a Theme Park View room. There is just something magical about sitting on the balcony in the morning, drinking a fresh cup of coffee, and looking out over the water to see Cinderella Castle gleaming with her beauty.

The Theme Park View rooms are usually found in Sago Key, Boca Chica, Conch Key, and Big Pine Key buildings. They are all centrally located to the main building. It may look on the map that Sago Key is set a tad farther away, but I can honestly say I preferred that building the most as it was very close to Gasparilla Island Grill. My daughters were able to walk there quickly to use their refillable drink mugs. The walk to the main building to reach monorail and bus transportation was just another minute or so. Conch Key rooms overlook the watercraft dock, so I prefer to be in one of the other buildings, as to not hear the toot of the horn as they arrive and depart. The Boca Chica and Big Pine Key rooms are very quiet and afford sweeping views of Seven Seas Lagoon.

Some basic room requests can be made when completing Online Check-In, but please note that these are merely requests and cannot be guaranteed. Rather than request certain buildings at this resort, I tend to request "Lower Floor" as the top floor rooms have dormer ceilings and I believe they are just a tad bit smaller in room-length than the other floors. Plus, I prefer the larger balcony on the middle floors rather than that dormer-style balcony.

I hope these tips help you complete your pixie-dusted plans! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
