Hi, if we are staying at a good neighbor hotel that is close to a Disneyland Resort parking lot (like the California Adventure/Katella Ave) can we take a tram from that end of the park up to the gate to save on walking from our hotel? Thank you!

Hello, Roseanne! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!

There is definitely A LOT of walking involved when you visit the Disneyland Resort so I’m all about saving my feet some steps whenever possible. If you are within walking distance to the Mickey and Friends or Toy Story parking lots, you can certainly hop aboard the tram or shuttle to get to the parks. You will want to compare the time you think it will take you to walk directly to the parks versus taking the parking shuttle, though. Sometimes it can be a lot quicker just to walk directly from your hotel depending on the schedules that the tram and shuttles run.

Another way to save yourself a bit of time and energy is to add the Disney MaxPass option to your tickets. Disney MaxPass allows you to make FASTPASS selections from anywhere in the parks using the Disneyland mobile app. It’s incredible how much time this saves since you don’t have to visit physical FASTPASS distribution kiosks. Plus, you can select FASTPASSES for your entire family at once and, if you have Park Hopper tickets, you can select FASTPASSES for attractions in either park no matter which park you are currently enjoying. It’s so easy to use and it will really help you make efficient use of your time.

I hope this helps. Have a fantastic time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
