Staying at GF in mid April 2015 with two boys ages 3 and 5. Is this hotel good for our kids (pools, distance from parks, etc) or is there another one that may suit us better? Thanks!

    Hi Carlyn,

Thanks for stopping by with your great question! Deciding on your resort hotel is one of the most important decisions to get you started and can affect many aspects of your vacation. Disney's Grand Floridian is an amazing resort as it is the flagship resort for Walt Disney World. Personally, though, when I stayed there with my family a few years ago, my children (6 mos, 4 and 7 at the time) didn't really get much out of the turn of the century Victorian theming. Don't get me wrong, the room was spacious and convenient and the pool was fun. However, I would personally suggest Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is simply amazing with its rustic Pacific Northwest feel. You are able to reserve rooms with bunk beds in place of one of the queens and many kids enjoy that. The dining there is spectacular and even if you don't decide to stay there, I highly recommend going to Whispering Canyon Cafe for at least one of your meals. This hoot-hollerin', boot-stompin' and lively spot is perfect for a hearty breakfast to get you fueled up for a day in the parks, or even a scrumptious lunch or dinner later in the day. The servers make the meal really fun and unique and there are even activities for the kids to enjoy before and during the meal. The pool is loads of fun, and nearby there is even Fire Rock Geyser that is a unique experience to watch for boys that age. They even have an evening campfire with marshmallow roasting and sing-a-long, weather permitting. While this resort is not on the monorail line, like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, it is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. You can also use the bus transportation to get to Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

No matter where you stay, I hope you have the most wonderful stay with your family creating lasting memories.
